T otalement détruite par le cyclone Irma en septembre 2017, la marina du Captain Oliver’s n’est toujours pas opérationnelle. La France et les Pays-Bas ayant enfin signé un accord modifiant le tracé de la frontière en mai 2023, l’avenir devrait voir la reconstruction prochaine de la marina. En attendant, il est possible d’emprunter le chenal, d’accès délicat mais clair, et de mouiller dans ce trou à cyclones en veillant à ne pas approcher l’espace de la marina, où des pieux sectionnés sont encore immergés. Les épaves coulées ont en revanche toutes été sorties de l’eau. À quelques minutes de marche, dans le petit village, on trouve deux épiceries modernes et bien achalandées, ainsi que plusieurs restau- rants de bonne réputation.
